OBITUARY:Robert "Bobby" Leitch
Robert “Bobby” William Leitch, age 87 of Wilmington passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Bobby was born in Wilmington on September 17, 1935. His parents were William Norwood Leitch and Viola Johnson Leitch.
Bobby was retired from the Wilmington Fire Department with the rank of Captain. He was a proud Mason and Shriner and was a member of the Wilmington Lodge # 319 A.F. & A.M., Wilmington Scottish Rite, Sudan Shrine Temple in New Bern, Wilmington Shrine Club and the Sudan Drum and Bugle Corps in Wilmington. Bobby was a Past President of the Wilmington Shrine Club.
Bobby is survived by his children, Lisa Jones (Ken) of Raleigh and Bill Leitch (Lori) of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Beth (David) and Christopher (Connie) and one great grandson, Jesse; sisters, Fay Gay (Leon), Jane Tchouros (Costas) Katherine Brinson, and Barbara Ann Brock. Remembered is Bobby’s wife, Nancy Marshburn Leitch who passed away on December 24, 2016.
Funeral service is planned for 11 am Monday, October 24, 2022 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel led by Rev. Sam Hill. Masonic Memorial Rites will be accorded by Wilmington Lodge #319 A.F. & A.M. Services will conclude at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, remember Bobby with a memorial gift to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
